Generally I use both my starting marines to push out and gather supply on the enemy “side” of the map and take their minis as I see fit. Supply or barracks or armory.- after hasty assessment of the games environment Map dependent and player dependent, but for the most part I will go If you mini stealing as yapyap or voridus, triple supply pad is sometimes the best way to go. If I'm quick basing with atriox, gen first, triple supply, armoury/gen depending on situation. If I'm playing forge, I usually go generator first, triple supply, gen 5th. Different strategies need different builds, obviously. Don't get a second base until you click tech 2. In the first few mins, you shouldn't have more than a few hundred supply at any time. Production building (armoury/barracks) OR gen (if your rushing to tech 2) OR supply pad if you scout spamming. Gen (upgrade immediately, if you've picked up your power you can afford this the second it comes up) Make sure you pick up at least one stack of power Send units to get power and supply crates. If you have no map presence at 3 mins, a good player will just walk up to your base and you won't be able to do anything about it. If you want to improve and get more competitive, you need to change this build order. Higher levels, this will lose you a game within 5 mins. At diamond/plat level, that will be fine. You really shouldn't be building a second gen that early, you'll have no units before 3 or 4 mins. It's a lot less efficient than you think. The build you're using is kind of fondly referred to by streamers/high level players as "the build". Message the mod team if you're hosting an event!
